RE: Car acting like it's going to shut down...
Capahook77,
What machine? Diagnostic Computer? I had a Bad Wiring Harness from the Main Computer to the Computer Module for the Transmission. But the symptoms sound different... I would start the car and go, and whenever I let off the gas, that was the max MPH. If I let off the gas in the neighborhood in 1st Gear at 20 MPH, that's what I got until I restarted the engine. 20 MPH in first... Let us know what you find out!

Hi
My SXT had a very similar problem. Luckily I have a very good local dealership and they found the problem quickly. Not sure what the thingy is called but there is a recycle valve on the back end of the cylinders, that returns unused fuel back into the system when you're coasting along, and that this valve was jamming open, so the fuel was being vented, not recycled, starving the engine. This causes the vibration and the dead engine feeling when you lightly put your foot back on the gas.
Whan I had mine fixed last month there was a national backorder on the part so I think it's a common issue. Cost $250.00 to fix up, all good now.
