A couple questions... The manual says up to 6 keys (spares) can be programmed if you have two already. I programmed one new spare, worked great. I tried programming a used remote key, with new shell cut for my car, and it would not work, tried several times, battery was good.

Will a used chip accept reprogramming? Is there a way to reset the 6-key limit in case my quota is used up (I bought the car used, so don't know key programming history)?

 

LX RKE (remote keyless entry) and SKIS (sentry key immobilizer system) are both programmed at the same time. they both communicate with SKREEM (sentry key remote entry electronic module) and you cannot program one without the other. i'm afraid your usedspare key is useless to anyone but the guy who has the other one.[/align]
