ongoing airbag light issues?
Ok, I'll post a personal observation here and skip the name-calling.
I have a 2005 Magnum RT. I noticed, about a month after I bought the car, that the passenger side airbag light would come on at times--even though there was nothing in the passenger seat. The light would stay on for a while (10-15 minutes) and go out. This only went on for a few weeks.
As fate would have it, the car was rear-ended weeks after the problem went away on its own. After the collision, the light came back on and it stayed on.
The damage to the rear end was not bad--repaired in a few days. The problem with the light was refered to the dealer.
The dealer took almost 2 weeks to fix the problem.
At first, I was told that a part was on order.
Then, I was told that the FEDEX shipment didn't arrive.
Then, when I called to check on the status of the car, the Service manager was not there. I spoke to some new guy at the dealership. He told me that he was new, but would try to find out what was up.
Later, he said that the guy working on my car had been on the phone with some technical people for over 45 minutes--trying to figure out the problem.
I asked about the "part" that was supposed to be coming via FEDEX. He told me that nothing had been ordered--they didn't know what the problem was.
Eventually, it was fixed. My point here is: There seems to be a problem with the airbag system that is more complicated than an after-market stereo installation.
Meanwhile, the dealership is probably the LAST choice of places for where I will take my car for service.

I had the same "light on/off" issue after having the TSB for the rattling sunroof problem done. I told them it didn't flash on/off before the work was done and I wasn't leaving until it was corrected. He said they had to calibrate it because the mechanic was working w/ the key on then off, etc while he was sitting in the pass. seat. After they did the calibration (maybe an hour) all was good again.
Good luck.
