I'm going to be in the market for a new (to me)car really soon, and I am really looking hard at the Magnum. I'm looking at the 05s and 06s, and obviously am finding more 05s. But I was wondering if there were any changes from 05 to 06 that would sway me into look harder at the 06s.

Also, I know the R/T had the option of the tow package, which to my knowledge, consisted of rear shocks and a trans cooler. Is there any way to know if a car had that option, and if it could be added on after the fact? I would like to have the option to use it as a tow vehicle should my Focus turn to a trailered track car.

And a silly question; I'm assuming the automatic transmissions have come a long way from the fragile ones of the early 90s? I'm fairly certain that old Dodge/Chrysler complaint has been put to rest.

I have a 05 SE magnum and I recommend getting a hemi. My V6 is gutless, especially if I try to run the a/c and drive at the same time! It's fine if I'm going down hill, coasting, then it runs fine. It runs fine in winter with the heater, but not the a/c. I do wish I had the hemi though, I'm kicking myself now!

 

the magnum SE is a little weak, but the magnum SXT with the 3.5HO motor is fairly quick. 250Hp is way more than a 1984 corvette. the tow package has a severe duty cooling system also.
