Yesterday, I picked up my 05 RT in Midnight Blue. I only have 55 miles on the car, but so far so good. While giving the car a quick look over at home, I noticed a few things wrong or missing.
I have the Protection Package which includes the side airbags. Can someone who has this option on their car look and see if it has the SRS emblem on the interior B pillar (between the front and rear doors) just above the seat belt hangar on both sides of the car. My car only has it on the drivers side.
I see in the owners manual that the 2 cubby bins down by the shifter console are supposed to have a rubber mat in each one. The forward (larger) bin has the rubber mat but the smaller one to the right of the shifter doesn't have any. Did my car get cheated?
Also in typical DC quality control, I noticed that the inside rearview mirror on my car isn't centered on the black area inside the windshield. Its closer to the drivers side by quite a bit, but its not touching the glass area. Anyone notice if theirs is off centered? I suppose if it annoys me enough, I can have the dealer remove and remount the mirror but no doubt, they will make a mess of the repair.

Another Bob here, and you got cheated................

My RT has side air bags and has the SRS embossing on both pillars.

As for the rubber linings in the bins, you got cheated again, your right side one is missing.

As for the mirror, mine is dead center, right in the middle of the windshield.

Looks like you better go see your service department.

I don't have an R/T, have an SXT but I concur with the other Bob, you got cheated. Get another from the dealer and have the make sure there are side curtain airbags on both sides. They may have just installed the wrong cover on the pillar but one never knows. Good luck!

 

All the cars I've seen have the mirror mounted slightly off the centre of the black area in the middle of the windshield.

 

After looking at my rear view mirror again (in daylight), it is mounted off center, to the left. I first looked at it while car was in garage, and darker inside.

Thanks guys. My cars mirror is to the right of center when looking at it from the front of the car. Today I also noticed that its missing a piece of black plastic/rubber which runs along the edge of the tailgate window. The left side piece is missing. I also noticed that the rear coil springs have a tag on each which says AWD even though my car is RWD. But I do have the tow package so maybe its normal. Anyone with the tow package can confirm the AWD tags on their cars rear springs? Otherwise I'll have to get the dealer to check it.

 

Mirror off center, GEEZE! went and looked, by golly it is off to the left of the black area! I never noticed, works just great. Rubber pads in the side pocket next to the shifter? No pad!! I got my RT in late August (ordered mid-June) Maybe they didn't have any. Probably need to hit up the dealer for mine!! I'll try not to ever think about the mirror being off center again!
