Default Exhaust question

I have an 05' SXT with a single tailpipe. I'm in need of replacing my rear bumper cover and now seems to be the right time to condiser the daul exhaust...so here is my question. Can my single exhaust system be converted into a daul. Where does the the split occur? And other than "looking cool" is there any other benefit to doing this?

Thanks

The single can be made into a dual whether or not the rear bumper is replaced.
The split for the duals is just behind the rear axle and a qualified tech should be able to handle it with no problem. As you said other than it looks cool you won't get anything performance wise that you can notice. Go for the cool (sound and look) it is a blast when my buddy starts his up, it growls like a HEMI.

Thanks for the info. I figured since I was replacing the bumper cover I'd get one that was pre-molded for the daul pipes. Will just making the split alter the sound or do I need to do something else to it. I assume this is relativly inexpensive since it's a matter of just splitting the pipe that far back in the car.

mopar makes a dual exhaust kit for the sxt magnums. the kit comes with a template and trim ring for trimming the bumper cover. no need to buy a new bumper cover just for the duals.

Just priced an MaganaFlow solid SS duel exhaust for his 06 mag. Right at 1,500 bucks not including labor. I have one on my SRT8, it kicks, it howls, and it will bite you.
