Ram air without a hood is still ram air, check out www.vararam.com and see for yourself.

That's a joke man. How about they compare their "ram air" versus a true CAI. I'll bet money that you won't see a consistant difference. Why? Do you really think that extra breeze into the intake is going to help that much? It doesn't. Generally it works better becasue "ram air" IS a CAI. If there is the slightest bend anywhere, it's not much of a ram air system. But whatever, go buy some gimmicks. I'll keep my true CAI's on my cars.

VRam is a good "idea" but the system is somewhat subjective to the basic format of each car. The space requirements and the options will mean the cold air option will be somewhat the same in format and the same in gains. As the Phantom intake from DP..

No hack at all but the nature of plastic is not good when the issue of heat comes up. I could make a similar design out of aluminum tube and anodize it for looks as well.

The nature of the hemi programming and intake system relates to air temp in a big way.

This weekend we should have some pictures and responses from Phantom on the only true cold air intake as of yet. I see others are already coping the system we use for the hemi on the 3.5. I’m flattered.

I will also have some pictures of a specialty-anodized unit in a 300c next week.

Back to the K&N kit...has anyone installed one on their Hemi Magnum?
If so, how is it?

ORIGINAL: k2pow

I tried getting the K&N kit and I heard that the Kit has been recalled for some more R&D. They said that the kit wont be avaliable for 60 days. Anyone with more info?
FYI
I just ordered one from out your way Ken.. and it should be here Today Sat.
Here is the link http://www.hopupracing.com/dodgemagnum.html
Price $229

I'll probably install it this evening. Just got Flowmasters installed yesterday and such a deal.. $207 I also removed the resonators.

Gota run & drive around till the intake arrives. Love the car.. sound.. just everything.

Yes I've had one installed for about 3 weeks or so. I also have Flowmaster 40 series mufflers with factory resonators.
I noticed a huge difference in the throttle response and a noticeable power increase especially thru the mid to upper RPMs. I can definetly bounce my passengers head off the headrest now. Its very snappy.
I cannot say if the K&N kit alone will give someone the same gains that I got because I have had the exhaust work since June. That alone did not give a noticeable increase, just more great sound. But now. WOW! what a difference in sound, power and feel.
Did I get it on a Dyno? No, and I won't. Who cares? I know my car is fast.

Right now, all I have is the drop in K&N filter element and a modified exhaust,
whick is a pair of series 40 Flowmasters and a pair of 12" glass packs right
at the stock exhaust tips. I am looking to add the complete K&N intake.

Is the one I should be looking at the "K&N Short Ram Intake"?

Thanks for all the info....
