RT Magnums on dealer lots
I believe that orders which have already been taken will continue to be built (regardless of planned discontinuation). After all, you already paid for it so they are responsible for fulfilling the contract. However, no new orders would be permitted for discontinued colors. At least, that is the way GM does business.

It's worth the wait! I ordered My midnight blue RT in June and picked it up late August. Hated to part with my '02 Intrepid RT, as it ran great and handled well.
The Magnum is the most awesome vehicle I have ever driven. Been down with the flu all weekend, but came to work just to drive the Magnum!!
Hang in there, you will love it!!

Well was up at my friendly dodge dealer lots in Toledo today and decided to see how many RTs on their lots....the one dealer had 9 on his lot and the other dealer had 8....can you believe that ...I cant get one that is ordered to be delivered to my friend who is a small dealer granted...but they can get a bunch up there...what goes? Just venting here.....Kent
I don't think anyone can fully explain it, but it is part turn and earn (sell one and you can order one), part DCX dealer sales goals (hit your factory assigned goals, get a treat), part previous sales (year past), and part german vodoo
. You can order all you want, but the cars sit in 'BX' status until you earn more allocations of that model (usually at the begining of each month). But as to which car they pick to build, well that's another story. I have a sold order in the system for a 300 for months now, and every month they pull other 300 that I have in the system instead of the sold order. [:@]
As for the Midnight blue, it's back and OK to order (at least for now). Mineral Gray is Scheduled Out for the rest of the model year (at least for now).
Keep smiling, they'll come eventually!

Thanks for responding everyone...I guess my point is how is the world do these dealers get 12 cars between them when there is such a high demand for them???? And I cannot understand either why they dont build ordered cars over dealer inventory cars....just doesnt make sense..here we are all waiting for our cars...oh well enough bellyaching I am very much looking forward to getting it and I guess the anticipation is good.....yeah right!!!! Kent
OH and by the way I just talked to my dealer friend and he is upset too because the factory keeps giving him excuses of why the cars are delayed and his road man does the same....one week it is sunroof one week the color etc etc....so he is not too happy either.

I will also do a dealer search. I ordered my black magnum RT from a small dealer Oct 21. He has only sold one Magnum so it may be a while before they build a Magnum for him.I did get the same $2,500 off list as you did but when I get the car is an unknown. I did not put down a deposit. And I have my 1999 Dodge Dakato sold for $10,000 so I am ready for the Magnum. I did a dealers search a month ago and found a few but they were loaded. I ordered one for $4,000 less than ones I found. I just want a black Magnum RT with these two options electronics convenience group and trailer tow group. Any one see one let me know.

My patience has run out also and I canceled by order of a Black Magnum RT. I ordered a magnum from a small dealer. He has only sold one SXT so it will be along time before they would fill his order. I searched the Dodge website and found a dealer in southern IN had 37 Magnums on his lot(12 RT's). I told my dealer to do a dealer swap, but IN dealer would not do it. If I had keep my order it may have been spring before I got Magnum. It would be only a few more months then before 2006 would be built. I will just keep my Black Dodge Dakato pickup truck and be happy. It gets me from point A to B.

Sorry to hear about that buddy but I too know what you are going through. Have had mine on order since late Sept and still that stupid BX code...he too is a small dealer and I dont think he has had a Magnum on his lot period....so you know he is VERY small but I like him and trust him that is what counts. Anyhow, he has his own RT on order and it is being shipped this week. Maybe I will make a deal on that one instead of the one I ordered and he can still use mine when it comes in to sell. The only problem is the one he is getting does not have sunroof and I had one on mine. The color is fine ....his is Mineral Gray which I like..I had ordered a Magnesium...so that is really a draw and his has convenience group on it which I didnt order but the price of the two cars is within 25.00 dollars so the deal should be the same....oh man what to do wait for mine or take his.....?????
OH and by the way...anyone in the Toledo area there are plenty of RTs up there....at last count the one dealer had 14....4 of which were AWD....and the other dealer had 10...so there are plenty in T Town....

I hated to cancel order with my small dealer as I have been trading with him for over 20 years. But factory is not going to build the magnum for him for a long time I think he is to small. I e-mailed the IN dealer that they would not do a dealer swap and they are eager to sell me one. I don't know what to do. My little dealer has had one ordered for his stock months before I placed my order and factory has not give him a build date either. I have searched the Dodge website and have found lots of Magnum RT on dealers lots the last week 37 on one lot.
