So let me start off by saying this forum has been a excellent source of information and I'm truely greatful I have found it. There are so many things I have read and seen on here that I want to do. I have a couple of questions and a story to tell so here goes. I was just eh hmm "finishing up" with the girlfriend and we heard a alarm going off in the parking lot. She wanted to go out and see what was going on and all I wanted to do was have a smoke. But she convinced me to go look ... we went outside and I see that the interior lights are on in the car. So I take off running and when I get to the car theres some crack head in the back seat going through my emergency kit. He opens the door and gets his legs out, so I slam the door as hard as I could and got his legs. He pulls his legs back in the car I start yelling at him "what the **** are you doing in my car" and he starts bawling like a little school girl yelling at me "I got the wrong car calm down man calm the **** down **** I'm just looking for something". So I lock the doors with him in and he continues to try and get out of the door I'm holding shut now. I hit the panic button on the car and he starts freaking out, finally he goes for the other door, unlocks it, and I lock it with the remote, this happened again and then he finally caught on and opened the door as soon as he unlocked it. Well he's out of the car now so I walk around the back and the gf walks around the front, I tell her to get away but she didnt move. The guy keeps shifting his weight from foot to foot and scratching his chin saying he "doesnt want any trouble its a misunderstanding" I swear at him quiet a bit then he starts pulling back his jacket ... I didnt like where it was going so I stop. He looked back at the car and says "I just need to grab my bag and I'll leave", I tell him like "like **** you are" so he turns towards the gf and starts pulling his jacket back. Ishout at him "get the **** out of here already" he grabbed the bag and walked away through a hole in the fence. I look in the car and see he's gone through everything, toss the keys for the car and the apt to the gf tell her to call the cops and I take off after the guy. Well the story doesnt have as good a ending as I would hope but I ended up with a hand cut open and my pajamas torn apart from hopping a barbed wire fence, and once I got over that the guy was gone dont know what happend to him ... probilly hid between cars. What really upsets me is he got into my lunch pail and ate half of a granola bar, ate some cashewes and stole the rest (I dont even eat in my car) got a pack of smokes and about $5 in change. He didnt grab the about $100 worth of cd's in thecenter counsle or the $1700 pay cheque that I had in the glovebox (though he tore apart both).

Now for the questions
-I didnt think my 05 magnum rt had a alarm on it but I certainly heard a car alarm whats up with that?
-I see no marks on the car and everythings intact ... whats the most likely way he got in
-What after market alarm system would you suggest preferably something with a 2 way pager
-I really like that brand of granola bar that he ate half of and it was the last one I had... is it ok if I eat the other half?
-And he left one left handed glove in the car ... what should I do with it ... I mean really if the guy was considerate he would have left both of them.

 

Has the 'Crackhead' sued you yet?

I mean you interupted his dinner, lucky he didn't choke on it....
You beat the crap out of him with the door...
Locked him in your car. (kidnapping)
And, you stole his left handed glove. I mean, now how is this guy going to support his drug habbit without the use of his left glove. Basically denying his Basic Right of Pursuing Happiness...

The RT comes with an Alarm, as part of the Keyless Entry Feature.
Don't leave anything more that a $5 pack of smokes in your car...
Unless you travel and park with high dollar items in your car, I wouldn't spend the extra money on an after market Alarm System.
Better leave that glove and half of granola bar on the outside of your car. You know he will be coming back for it!

 

If he would have started to pull back his jacket on me, I would have made 2 phone calls.

The second would have been to the police.

The first would have been for an ambulance to haul his dead a-- away.

Well its not that easy, I live up in the great white north and we don't get to defend our property like that. The things that 2005 Magnum R/T Hemi said are probibly pretty close to the truth. I ended up getting a viper 2 way alarm (just something alittle extra incase I don't hear the alarm). Turns out the guy that broke in lives in the next apartment over ... talk about working close to home. So since the women saw him I've been driving through there everyday ... really slow. I hold a grudge for a long time.

 

oh and a pack of smokes around these parts is $9.25
