Hey joey, are you saying I should have taken care of the tach a little better. Or maybe I should have shut the hood a little easier. Or maybe when a window switch stops working I should have used my pinky instead of my index finger. By the way it was a rear seat armrest that broke which is used very rarely. Or maybe I should take all the o-rings or gaskets out monthly to keep them from failing and leaking.

Don't give me that crap about taking care of it, American cars use cheep crap to keep the price down. Of course I understand the importance of oil and fluid changes, but give me a break. The things that break are all simple fixes but should the map light spring break, maybe I shouldnt use it and carry a flashlight.

Magmania - I wasnt trying to insult your hood (I think it looks great), look at any 05, 06 listed for sale, you will see the gap when looking at any of them.

P.S. I am now getting the RKE Battery code. (I did see the next thread). Maybe it wasn't taken care of either.

It's all good keifer, I took no offense because there is definately a gap there.
And yes I have seen this gap you are referring to.
Because of mine I would always check out the new ones at the dealership while I was getting my maggy serviced.

And yeah, does'nt sound like you have been abusing anything or driving any harder than I do.
Do what you gotta do. It's your happiness (not anyone else's).

I think the others just getkind of sensitive about anyone talkin' down the Magnum.
Too much love for it going on there. I would hope it's not meant to be so personal.

Just sorry to hear that you are having so many issues with your maggy.
Maybe you got the rotten one.

I have a 2005 Magnum R/T 65,000 miles.

To date I have had two issues
8,000 miles dead battery due to faulty cells within the battery.
46,000 miles o-rings began leaking, repalced under warranty.

I had a 2004 Acura TL
first night the headliner popped down.
9k tires work out and repalced under warranty (Bridgestone Turanza)
11k braking system failed had to have everything replaced kept car for two weeks.
21 k airbag system deactivate setting a light off on teh dash, whole computer system had to be replaced.
26k trans began slipping

I currently have a 2006 Acura TL with a manual transmission.
Therre is a clicking sound in the front end whenever you turn the steering wheels which numerous dealers claim is part of the design.
The body panels don't line up perfect.
A couple rattles on the interior.
Navigation system is outdated and aweful.
Transmission is hard to shift into 3rd when cold, again claim it is part of the design.

Don't give me the line about American cars being lousy Leifer.
I had to fight Acura on everything to admit to the issues befor ethey would fix them.

My best friend bought a 2007 Accord EX V6 and already has ha dthe tranmission, power steering pump, replaced and only has 8k. He had to get the BBB involved befor ethey admitted there was a problem.

Look up Toyota reliaility and Honda on google or ask.com and you will see they aren't so stellar anymore.

Other than being fun to drive I hate this car. $35,000 down the tubes. Can't trade itbecause they are worth next to nothing. Next car is a used Porsche. Is it illegal to put a sign in the windowthat says doors unlocked and heated seats are on?

If you think you wasted 35K on your Magnum, wait untill you get a Porsche.

I thought Porsche was a decent car. They also hold value pretty good. I am looking at 97 & 98 carrera turbo all wheel drive. I think I am better off getting rid of the magnum ASAP they seem to be tanking in resale. I am also thinking about the new Nissan Sky with 400+ horse for only 70k.

I really wanted this car to work... It has more leg and head room than my Yukon and handles very good for the size of car. Its just not aging well and had a list of problems far too long. The trans does seem like it go another 100k but everything else maybe another 30k or so. Service dept both at Downers Grove Dodge and Naperville Dodge sucked. Total time spent in shop was over a month. Lucky I bought the extended warranty that had rental car included.

I have one of the very first 05's and still no problems at all. My Magnum has been perfect since day one and I'm still in love with it. The Paint still looks new and no growinggap in the hood. When my new Challenger get's here, I'm still keeping the Magnum. I have donenothing but the normal maintenance and have had nothing go wrong, 61,000 miles and still going.

Free Style,
Just don't ruin your New Car by letting it sit and the Rats eat it up and you should be fine. Anything over 50K for that Nissan is insane, IMO... 400 HP GTOis just over 30K. Plus if you are going to go import, the Lancer and WRX STI are about the best bang for your buck on the Market.
