2005 r/t- same old american piece of crap
2005 R/T, 28,000 miles. Already this thing is falling apart. Analog tach doesnt work. Paint on door handle peeling off. Started to leak oil the other day.The gaps on the hood just above the headlights is getting bigger. Looks like some one pulledup on the creases but is same on both sides. The card board base for the trunk is warped.
Time to get rid of this thing before its value is completely gone.

My 05 RT hasn't had any of those problems. Aside from issues with the alignment and ac, ther car has been good. The only big problem happened, at about 50k miles, when my wife tried to drive through 3ft+ of water. -Blew the motor and got water into the transmission. (We got a new motor, and had the trans rebuilt.) We are at 71k now.
I have an 05 with 86,000 miles on it.
Sorry to hear that you feel that way. I have'nt had any real issues with mine and I absolutely love this car.
I have'nt had any problems with the tach, but as for the gaps, is the car lowered?
I am not sure of what you are referring to when you say the both sides crease issue. Is that on the fenders right above the front tires?
I have this but it is due to bottoming out on my front suspension. I have the Prokit but with factory shocks. Hitting freeway bumps and holes at 70 plus mile an hour make me kringe.
The oil leak, is that tranny or engine oil? If it's tranny then it's a known problem with o-rings that can be corrected at the dealer.

"The gaps on the hood just above the headlights is getting bigger. ".....sounds more like someone closed the hood , with something still underneath it , to me....that , or someone did actually pull up on it while it was latched[sm=WTFsgign.gif]
Our `05 has 22K on it and still looks/drives like brand new. We had thetranny leak fixed (just a seal/o-ring leaking) over a year ago , but that`s the only issue we`ve ever had.
The tach issue could be something as simple as a fuse or a sensor that`s gone bad.
I can`t see why the trunk piece is warped , unless you`ve put something back there that was too heavy.
...sounds as if you aren`t going to be happy with the car anyway , so you may as well sell it to someone that will[sm=signs003.gif]

It's not that I am not happy. I love the car as I do my 2000Ford Excursion. Engine is strong, never any mechanical problems, but window switches go out, mirrors stop defrosting, armrest breaks off. Its all the little things that go wrong with american cars/trucks. I have had none of theses nuisance problems on my wifes Lexus.
The hood thing is on all magnums. If you look at it from the front, just above the inside top corner of headlights both sides, the gap gets bigger as the car gets older. Look at magmania's white magnum, you can see the gap from the front picture. If you have older pictures of your car or of when it was new, the gap was not there.
I may get rid of this magnum, but I wouldn't rule out a 2008 Magnum.

The front edge of the RKsport was not perfect and I have seen this same thing on other RK hoods. I was'nt willing to spend the cash or have the down time to getit perfect.

I, too have had many problems with my '05 RT AWD. I somewhat expect them because of the fact that it's a first model year. I love the looks and power and just the feel of the car so much thatI am able todeal with the many problems. I got the bumper-to-bumper extended to 70K because I knew that things might go wrong.
Sorry that you're having problems, but I hope they get taken care of so you can enjoy your ride!
