Default Painted Brake Calipers

I just painted my brake calipers on my RT, using DupliColor Caliper Paint kit. They offer the kit in several colors: Red (I used), Yellow, Silver, and Black Satin. Price was $21.95 + shipping from AutoBarn.

None of my local car parts stores had the DupliColor Kit in stock, most had never heard of it. It is a high temperature paint and holds up well.
The kit includes degreaser spray, masking tape and can of paint with stirring stick, and paint brush.

There is enough paint to do 2 coats for about 3 cars, share it with a buddy.

Here are some photos I took:

The larger calipers are from the front, the smaller ones are the rears.

I am tempted to get the Black Satin paint and paint the mounts for the calipers, it is the black part shown in the above photos.

Uh, NO!! [8D] that stuff would probably just catch on fire or just bake and peel off. We are talking HIGH TEMPERATURE on the brake calipers. Definitely not the place to use model car paint. Use the testors on the Magnum model kit when it comes out though![sm=icon_rock.gif]

You must use high temperature paint on the calipers!

The paint in the DupliColor Kit is rated at 500 degrees.

Enough said.

When I had my 2003 Mustang Cobra, I used VHT Caliper paint on the calipers and it held up well. But on the Magnum RT, I don't plan to paint the calipers because I feel they are nothing special to look at since they aren't Brembo or some other high performance brand. Just ordinary off the shelf parts bin stuff.

Actually they are PBR 2-piston calipers. No more special than the Cobra or Z06 Corvette calipers (they are the same parts, slightly modified in each case for fitment and asthetics).
