Default Snow Tire Information

I have a 2007 Magnum SXT with 18" aluminum wheels, RWD. I've just installed winter tires and I thought I'd pass on some very important information.

1. A Magnum WITHOUT a Hemi motor and WITHOUT beefed up brakes can use 17" wheels for winter tires.
2. The correct tire size to use is 215 - 65R - 17.
3. You must use the correct steel rims, or the front tires WILL rub against the suspension. After market rims work great, as long as they are the correct ones (designed to fit Magnum, Charger, and 300).
4. And finally, the original lug nuts WILL NOT fit the steel rims, and a 2nd set of lug nuts will be required.

Quite a hassle to get winter tires installed, but after the ice/snow storm we had 2 weeks ago, it was necessary.

Hey 46FD04,

You didn't mention what kind of tires you put on.

I use Michelin Latitude X-ice on My SXT and they are FANTASTIC.

Hi. Yes I did forget, and funny enough, I put the same tires on as you did.

They are EXCELLENT!

I used 17" wheels for the snows because, 18" snow tires are hard to find AND very expensive.

Each 18" snow tire was over $100 more than 17" tires.

the factory 17" wheels fit just fine in the rear of the magnum r/t. they just won't fit the front.
