Default Getting Sirius - which hook up is best w/Magnum

I am getting the Sirius Sat. radio. Was told that there are 3 types of install, hardwire, wireless/ plug and play, and fm modulater. Heard hardwire is not available in Sirius only XM. I guess this all has to do with reception & sound?
Anybody have experience. Do you like what you did or would you have changed anything?
I currently have the 6 disk changer if that helps.
Thanks

FM modulators suck. I have had dozens of complaints over the years for radio reception problems only to find it is the modulator. For sure go with hardwire if possible.

if you don't plan on eventualy replacing your radio your best bet is probably to go with the factory sirus radio, the hardwired is the best sound wise and it will be a lot neater as well since your factory radio controls the system, no add on head unit you need to place on your dash somewhere to control it.

Factory would be best BUT IT AIN'T CHEAP. Reciever + antennae & wiring (including CAN Bus link) $160.00 + tax + installation (unless you feel comfortable doing it yourself. Just an FYI.

If you go with an aftermarket head unit, you can get several that are much better than the factory unit and have either MX or Sirius built in, one good one is Alpine which then you can hook up an iPod, extra CD changer if you want, etc etc. One of those personal prefence issues again.

actualy you wouldn't be saving a whole lot for an aftermarket one, on crutchfield.com it's about $150 for the reciever + car kit, granted the after market one likely will be nicer unit with more features, though worse sound due to the interface.

If you go wih the aftermarket product I am told that the remote controls on the steering wheel will not work with it. That seems pretty important IMO.
