More observations.

In Massachusetts today the smalll dusting coupled with still sleeping road crews (the snow was a bit of a surprise AFAIK) made for ice slicked roads nearly every where. Like most vehicles, the Magnum was nearly helpless in these conditions. While the front wheel drives were struggling around, the rear wheel drive simply made obvious the fact that there was little traction to be had.

Now, I think that an native Eskimo would look at the "snow" videos and laugh at us for thinking that these cars would do that well in real world snow conditions. Given that Eskimos have a very large number of words to describe different types of snow, it would obvious the them that the happy fluffy snow found in the video does not equal the hard packed snow that is often found a roadway. Just a though that leads me to my next observation.

The parking lot at my office was untravelled and untreated when I arrived today. This, of course, lead to some traction practice. I could not get the rear end to break loose in 1/2" of snow unless the grade was helping me to.

I am still reserving judgement. So far, the car has done as well can be expected in zerp traction conditions. I am pondering moving the BFGs though. These are my first Contis and so far I am not very impressed in general.
