First impressions driving in snow?

RE: First impressions driving in snow?
Misssed the snow but did get a chance to try an icy parking lot.
Did a half donut and just about what I would expect from a rear wheel drive car. ESP did not kick in but this was very brief.
From a standing start on ice put my foot down and the car pulled away without any noticeable wheel spin. Traction Control lowered the throttle to maintain max acceleration without wheel spin. The ESP light on the panel was flashing.
Will report more when we get the first snow which I hope will be a while!

RE: First impressions driving in snow?
To paraphrase another car ad I saw, this car is not a complete fugative from the laws of physics.
I took a right hand turn up a hill and ont a road that rolls or banks to left slightly. With a bit too much throttle, the combination of iffy traction in the slush and ice and the shift to off camber sent my tail around to the left. Fortunatly, I was able get off the gas, steer left and goose the gas in time to get the tail back to neutral. Not before the wife put a few claw marks in the arm rests though. Missed the curb by -> <- that much.
Snow might be better, but the slushy ice was as expected. I mean what do I expect with silly amounts of horse power and torque in a rear wheel drive?

We have some more snow now. Poop! I hope I didn't make a mistake. I went from all wheel drive to rear wheel drive in the Magnum. Almost did a 360 yesterday going around a corner. Gotta get used to rwd again. It's been about 20 years since my last rwd vehicle. More driving in snow today. We will see how it goes.

The Magnum is not as good in the snow as the dealer promised it would be. I saw the Haughton Lake videos too. I have a small hill in my driveway that I now have to get a running start to get up. AWD may be in my future. I'll probably get killed trying to trade already, won't I?
