I am still exploring these functions on my recently acquired RT. The audio controls on the steering wheel are convienent <g> and allow you to keep your eyes on the road. Don't you have need for the security system?

Electronics Convenience Group
$639

Traveler/Mini Trip Computer (This is cool to play with)
Instrument Cluster with Display Screen
Steering Wheel-Mounted Audio Controls (I love this option)
Security Alarm
HomeLink®, Universal Garage Door Opener (work great if you have a garage door)
Electronic Vehicle Information Center (This is good I haven’t learned it all yet)
Temperature and Compass Gauge (I like knowing the Temperature aspect)

Convenience Group II
$925

Air Conditioning with Dual Zone Auto Temp Control (I wanted the auto contols, if you have two people riding a lot the duel zone is really nice. The sun always seems to be on one side and not the other. This will adjust for that.)Power Adjustable Pedals
Heated Front Seats (Even in Texas in the winter it's cool so this is really nice. In about 20 seconds the seat will get hot)
Power Front Seats

I love both packages.

Doesn't one of the groups get you express windows as well, those are too cool. I usually think most of the crap they put on these cars is just something I get to fix later but the windows and sunroof are nice.

Hemi RT,

Do you mean the Electronics Convenience Group or the Convenience Group 2 ?????????

When I was looking for my RT on dealer lots, I wasn't looking for these options. It turns out the RT I did buy had both of these options and at first I really didn't want them. But after driving the car for a few months, I am glad that I have both of them.

What I didn't get was the sun roof, I did want that option but my car didn't come with it.

I did get the Magnesium Pearl color that I wanted.

For some reason I can't get the Universal Garage Door Opener to recognize my Genie door opener, but I can live with that.

I also have the Protection Group.....$590

I just love my RT and all the options!

Bob

Bob, I was asking about Group 1. Ired that there are a TON of thinga to do with the computer. More than are just listed in the brochure. Does the alarm come with all the models. I know the SE blows the horn when you lock it. Is that saying "Hey, don't forget you just locked the dorrs" and then the lights flash, is that juast the SE winking at you?? I don't know of many manufactures that make you pay extra for an alrm these days.

Bob,
Did u set the garage door opener itself? this may be a dumb question, but it took me awhile to figure this one out. u have to set the actual opener to recognize ur car's signal.

as for the options, get as many options as you can. its worth it. i told myself before buying my car i could live without this option or that option etc... when the r/t hit the lot in july, i didnt have much choice, it was either take it loaded or order it to specs and wait. i dont regret getting any of these options. plus the dual temperature instrument panel looks cooler than the non .

Hey Bob,

I didn't think my "Universal Garage Door Opener" wasn't going to work either. I programmed the car and nothing happened. The display said it had learned my transmitter and that it was sending a signal. Then I had the bright idea to program the car to the actual garage door opener. It works perfect now. That genie can learn your car after your car leans the remote. I've got two doors and they are both programmed to the Magnum.

Teach the car
then
teach the opener.

When I got my Magnum I really didnt think I needed the Convenience Group at all....now that I have it I wouldnt be without it. The heated seats are fantastic and since I have long legs the adjustable pedals are great too.

I noticed other people talking about their garage door openers and the trouble they are having...I am having the same trouble ....tried holding my opener right up to it and holding for whatever period of time but the darn thing will not program....what am I doing wrong Any help would be appreciated..........Kent
