As an update.. after the dealer FINALLY fixed my pulling to the right issue (it took them replacing the entire service staff to get competent people in there) the car's behavior in wind is MUCH more tame now. Much more

ORIGINAL: MagnumRT

I have had my RT up to 120MPH and had no problems with the handling, it is great to be able to pass 5 cars at a time on a 2 lane road!!! LOL

Love that big burst of speed and power.

Just wish the tires were Z rated and the speed limiter was gone.

Here is a vid I did of my lil 3.5L hitting the rev limiter at 118mph. Its the 3rd post from the bottom on the 1st page. You can tell there was lil if any drifting when I finally got to the top end. 0-85 pretty good but when it hit top gear, there was a lil "hole" and took, what seemed, forever to top out. I cant wait until someone with an R/T does a vid too. Of course safely. Thats the one nice thing about NE, there are a few roads to open her up without worring about cars.

0-118mph

I drove one of these (had 2000 miles on it) for 5 days as a rental in Phoenix/Tuscon area. It was a V6... 'n sorry to say... it handled like a pig. Wandered all over the road... required constant steering inputs. It was tiresome to drive. Wind was another problem... very susceptable to cross winds. It also put up a racket off the passenger side rear view mirror that sounded like the tire was shredding... wierd! 'Lotta blind spots... cup holder is in back of the shifter 'n gets in the way with anything in it. The V6 is gutless... 'sucked gas. We had considered buying one... with a hemi. Not anymore.

Excellent example of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I just bought a SXT(V6), incase you did not know that, and have had none of the problems you listed. Have been on two road trips incompassing over 800 miles and very windy parts of TX and Mag handled as well as any of the other 5 cars I have driven on same route. Yeah, maybe a better cup holder design but once car is in drive is that really a big deal?[&:] Sorry you had such a bad experience with such a fine car.

Yeah, I was a bit frustrated with mine for the wandering, but after the fixed the alignment it handles great now. One of the reasons I bought it was for the ride quality and how quiet it is in the cabin.

Keep in mind you were driving a rental, they tend to get beaten up.

The 'rental' had 2000 miles on the odo. I even got under the front end 'n looked for scuff marks on the suspension... abnormal tire wear or scuffing on the inside of the tires. Everything was still bright and clean. My wife's 5'3'... 'n somethin' of a 'wheel' in her own right... 'n she didn't like it either for the same reason. When we finally took it back to the agency (Dollar - Phoenix) the kid pickin' up the car said there were many complaints about the Magnum's steering and the 300's as well. They're great lookin' vehicles... however, acceleration was lacking in the V6 (at least the one I drove) but I'm used to my Dak R/T. As I mentioned previously... we had considered buying the 'hemi' version. By the time we turned it in... we both wished we'd rented a Jeep or PT Cruiser. We're not exactly 'kids' either... I'm 62 'n my wife's 55. We've driven a lot of hot rods 'n performance vehcles between us over the years... me especially. Neither one of us 'granny' a vehicle. Suffice to say the Magnum experience was a dissapointment... 'cause I really like the look.
