You can create your own cold air intake by cuttin a hole in the front of your heat box and running a port to the grille. Less than ten bucks vs a little over 200 at 360airintakez.com which is the most inexpensive cold air intake I know of for the magnum.
Also, ditch your fatass suitcase on your stock exhaust. Otta cost ya 50 bucks or less to have it cut off and thrown away. You'll feel gains from it and it'll sound MUCH better.
There is a jet chip available for around 250 bucks but hold out for a reprogramming chip. The one available now just fools the puter whereas the ones not available yet will reprogram stuff and let you change settings. They'll even do away with the 128mph limit you have now.
The porting of your stock heat box (air filter cover) and the ditching of your suitcase otta costa ya less than 60 bucks and you shoud get a good 15 hp kick out of those two mods.

Right on man...thanks
What do you mean by the "fat *** suitcase" in my exhaust?
So your saying I could just cut a hole in the front of the filter box and fit up a tube to mount inside of the grill to get more air. Do I leave the stock intake tube that I believe runs down from the filter box.
Sorry about my ignorance, but I just got er and havnt really learned her ins and outs.
Oh ya, do you think replacing the stock paper filter with a K&N would be a good idea.
Thanks again
Brian

You can find the mod. that "grinner" is talking about at the following address. Also another one that also works well.

I had a hole in my stock air box for a long time. Then I finally put in the Volant intake and there was a HUGE difference. I think the stocker is just limited in what it can do.

I agree that cuttoing out the muffler and replacing with performance mufflers will help.

This engine wants to breathe!!

Does the CAI make the engine louder?
I HAD A 91 Mustang GT back in highschool. I took out the silencer, and it added a bit of a deeper sound. Can youu simply remove the silencer on the Hemi?
Thanks

It's a balance between level of performance vs $$$$$.
You can throw alot of money out there for marginal performance gains.

Personally I went with the AirRaid cold air box & had a local muffler shop replace the suitcase with Magnaflow Performance Mufflers and 12" glaspaks for the resonators.
The AirRaid is a compromise being around $100.00 cheaper than the 360 or K&N and you do get a performance gain with much better sound from the engine.
Having the muffler shop build something as opposed to just getting a cat-back system saved around $300.00 and again provided a performance gain & nice sound.

So what's your budget??
Your options go all the way from cutting out the suitcase, K&N stock filter and mod the airbox $100-150.00
My setup for around $500-600.00.
Full catback, Full cold air intake for around $900-1,000.00
Add headers,chip & NOS for another $2,000.00

Don't forget you're dealing with a 4100LB wagon so if you're looking to stomp *** this really ain't the car for you.

If you're like me and just want to minor performance increases and a nice sound (especially since Florida just upped the penalty for street racing to a year in jail) then I think I've outlined the baseline options for you.

Have fun, with a couple of basic mods the fun quotient goes up considerably

Thanks AJ...
Ya, I was basically thinking about changing the mufflers, intake, and maybe lowering her a bit, dont wanna lose her wonderfull ride though.
About her being a wagon, yes thats why I bought her. I'm getting older (29 now) got married, and maybe kids soon? The Magnum is the perfect blend of performance/functonality.
Anyways...the mufflers are mid car, and the resonators are the ones in the far back..right?
What do the glass packs do? With your set up do you have the "drone" everyone is talkin about?
I put Flow's on my Mustang back in the day, and around 2000-3000 rpm I had the drone.
I hear the chips available are BS...any thoughts
Thanks a lot, and sorry for all the Q's

The Magnaflows have a mellower sound as opposed to the Flowmasters IMHO and no baffles.
Putting 12" glaspacks at the rear to replace the resonators gets rid of the "drone".
I had it when at first I just had the Magnaflows and tips in the rear so I went back & had them put the glaspacks on a couple of weeks ago.
Now it's a sweet sound
