I have been going over my new Magnum RT checking things out and reading owner's maual. I went under hood and removed panel in cowl on the passenger side and I did not find a filter in intake box. I put my hand down into box and felt toward back on box and felt a wire screen. They say to replace the filter ever 15,000 miles on B schedule and 12,000 miles on A schedule.Did factory forget to install or have they did away with it all together. Is filter really needed?

Do you have the protection group option? If not, then your car will not have the filter.

I do not have the Protection Group that includes: air filtering system,front and rear side air bags and self sealing tires

Was it you or someone else who once said on here or ACTUALLY did....just got the air filter required and installed it them selves??

I hope my SRT has that installed next year! along with H.I.D. headlights!

 

you should be able to install the filter. If not the add on kit is very inexpensive for the other models, I see no reason it would be any different for the LX.
