Default I cancelled my Magnum RT AWD order

Just decided it's too much of a pain in the **** to wait for the suspension parts (if they even will come out for AWD....I have a hard time finding any company producing any lowering springs for the 4matic mercedes out there) as well as a slight worry about power adders on the transmission......AMG don't make 4matics for their cars, is that a sign that the 4matic can't handle the power? Biggest hp/torque rating I see used on the 4matic is 305/339......hemi already exceeds that. Add headers back exhaust, CAI, crank pulley replacement and a reprogramming (if that ever comes out)....I think I might very well blow the AWD system up.

So **** on it, I just went for the regular old HEMI RT RWD Now I just hope the tow package doesn't screw up my chance of lowering the damn car a little bit!

That's a very good quesiton, the one about lowering I mean. Doesn't the tow package come with the auto-leveling shocks?? Understood that vehicle ride height is controlled by the length/tension of the springs, but will the auto-leveling be constantly trying to "raise" the rear of the car? THAT, is an unknown for now I guess??

I would guess the load leveling has more to do with the level of the entire car vs. the height of the springs themselves, so if you lower the car evenly, the rear shouldn't all of a sudden ride around *** up in the air like a horny cat....so I hope

that's what I would think too but one never knows! LOL - anyway, the Eibach springs are GREAT!! Blew some people's minds this morning on the way to the gym. Actually made the traction control kick in through a corner (desginated a 35 MPH turn, went in at 50, came out at 70!!) Man these cars are a blast AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE 5.7!!!! Talking with the guys at DC about moding my rearend to accept the anti-sway bar from the RT rearend, just to help out the handling a little bit more. Just have to weld a couple of dogears on to bolt it up to and as long as it is done by a dealership, they will cover it like a factory installation. What a great company to deal with!!!!

The load levelers are a stand alone peice. They don't care what the rest of the car is doing, they have a designed height and they will keep the car there, even if that means you are nose down from lowering it. If you are going to drop it you will have to lose the shocks.

Put them on ebay, we sell them for about 550/ea so you should get some decent money for them.

Question about the Eibachs. I love the look of the car lowered. I would not love dragging over every speed bump though. How is the clearance?

So I should have my RT this week or next, I signed the papers yesterday. I went ahead and took a Cool Vanilla RT off their lot, they are going to be installing the DVD GPS NAV and one of the other conveinience packages it didn't have but that I want. I nixed the tox/load leveling package as it would cause problems with the lowering springs. I just ordered the magnaflow cat back exhaust, K&N CAI, and Eibach lowering springs. Since Dynatech hasn't released their headers to cat system yet, that will be next, as will Eibach anti sways once those release next month. And then I'll do rims/tires in the spring after the worry of snow and road salts are gone, but I doubt I'll be driving the RT at all in the snow....I got a beater s-10 for that. I am so damn stocked to have a new car.....the bmw was fun while it lasted, but I don't chase after girls no more, I got the one I wanted, so I don't need the sport/flash of the tricked out beemer. Now I'm getting the functionality and purpose cool dad mobile with enough grunt behind me to make me smile when I get on it from time to time, with a look you either love (which I do) or hate. [sm=hia.gif] I am just so damn excited!!!!!!!

I think the stock ride height of the RT is 5.6 inches...the eibach sport springs are supposed to lower you 1.3" in front/1.4" in the rear, so you'll have over 4" ground clearance. If you want to go lower, I think the Eibach race spings are supposed to bring you down 1.8/1.9" front and rear.
Since my bmw has 2.75" ground clearance in the front with the low front bumper and about 3" midsection, I should feel like I'm in a normal car with 4" ground clearance. Just have to see about the front and rear overhang.....something to worry about I guess
