Default How low to go?

I'm thinking real hard on how low to take my Black RT, I see that Eibach has 1.3" and 1.9" drops available.

I did some quick looking but didn't find any real comparision pictures - any pointers? How about posting some if you've lowered yours?

Thanks!

Mike

Nope, you are right there - I don't want the 'slammed' look, just want to fill in the wheel-wells a little bit more.

I cannot believe that another ounce of z3 with a few drops of zfx in it and 30 minutes later - it's even better, if that was possible, than before..great stuff, worth every penny.

I have a PT Cruiser and I lowered it 1.5" front, 2" rear (Goldline springs) to fill the wheel wells...well, in the WNY area you've got to be careful with driveways and potholes. I've learned to take pitched driveways at an angle to avoid scrapping the hell out of the front air dam.

The car didn't lean as much and it is more responsive. I think you'll be pleased with the drop you mentioned and still have some clearence.

Good luck!

I hope it isn't illegal to link to another magnum forums board, but this is an install how-to DIY, and he has before and after shots of the car with the eibach 1.3/1.4" drop on it....I think it fills in the wheel wells just right.

It's not too much lower, but consider as well the springs haven't settled after the install in his photos, and a fresh install probably won't for a day or so after install.

I'm waiting on Hotchkis becuase Eibach tend to be a little soft on top, and my ride needs to be stiffened up a bit. I think the price of the kit for all 4 will list for less than $200.00. I'll probably get one of the first sets because I'm local next to a Hotchkis distributor. I'll keep you posted.

To answer your question, I'm thinking about 1.5' will look great. I agree, car is too low for a big drop, just a nice tuck will be fine.

Here's my SXT with the Eibachs on after a week. It has dropped about 2" total once settling and it is FIRM!! No softness in these springs. Very tight conering ability, just a slight bit of roll in the rear since there are no anti-sway bars on the SXT (but will be soon). Right now the rule of thumb for my Mag for cornering is, whatever the turn is marked, double it and then nail it when 1/2 through. No drift, no vibration, just a nice little controlled drift of 2 - 3" coming out. Feels GREAT!! Still don't know what the top speed is on the SXT but have had it up to 110 so far (at least that's what the HP clocked me at!!).

" just want to fill in the wheel-wells a little bit more. "

Larger wheels will give the illusion of fuller wheel wheels while maintaining full suspension travel and ground clearance, and the wider tires will improve handling!!

Which of these wheel wells looks fuller?? 18" or 22"??

I figure the Eibach Prokits have settled all they're gonna, here's a before-n-after...

It's passed the wife test, rides real nice and handles better, flatter corning and still comfortable for hours and hours..

Worth doing...

Looks good with that 1.3" drop, man, I can't wait for next weekend, once the rims/tires come in, the springs go in too. I saw a magnum with the 255/45x20's that I've ordered, and according to the miata.com tire size calculator, these should only be .4" bigger in overall diameter to the stock 18" tires, but they looked friggin' huge when I eyeballed them, hope I don't rub after I lower it, that would suck big time.

How long did you do the "after" pics after install? A day or a few hours? Thanks
