Wow! And I thought that my "5Star" dealer was bad.....................

Your dealer isn't in Ocala, FL by chance?

Tough luck,

Bob

I know it may hard to believe but sometimes we truly do run out of parts and have to wait for the vendor to catch up and make some more. We don't make the parts, somebody else does. They just stick them in a Mopar box.
Yeah, what he said! Remember that! Although it does sound to be a problem w/the ordering person at your dealers Parts Dept. Be patient, it'll get fixed, but I understand what you're saying. I've been a service advisor before, not always a pleasent job! Also, you purchased a brand new car, it's first year of production, expect a few problems here and there.

Just got off the phone with the service tech.....he said there was no damage
to my Magnum. Figures it was "computer" related. He did tell me that the
error code is still coming up for the sound system and that the sound / NAV
system is showing that I have driven over 47, 000 miles, but the actual
mileage is 6700.

He asked me is my sound system had given me any problems, I said nothing
other than the error code that was detected, when I took it in when the AC
died for about 20 minutes. He then advised me that there is no sound
coming from the sound system other than the lady that works in the NAV
system. He said they will be ordering me a new sound / NAV system and
replacing that when it comes in.

Needless to say, I am glad that sudden surge of RPM's did no damage to
the motor or trans.

Sounds like it's time for an aftermarket unit...you'll get better sound anyway!

I'm not too sure I want to lose my NAV, and to be honest, I like
the sound system in my Magnum.

With that said, I just got back from picking up my car, I was told
the only error code was for the sound system. They reset the
computer and the stereo now works again. I was told that if
I should lose the sound again, they will go ahead and replace the
unit.

They were also curious as to what mods I made to the car....
I told them the exhaust....they doubted me, saying that there
is no way an exhaust mod would increase the power that much.
They said it is the fastest Hemi Magnum they have ever drove.
Maybe the computer is really "jacked" up.....lol

I agree with you, dodgemech, I am very hesitant on bringing my car to the dealer, because it is a very good possiblity that the car won't be put back together the same way they took it apart. I'm not talking about a bucket of extra parts lying around, but just small, minor adjustments that will make a difference over time. I would never take my car into the dealer for miscellaneous BS. Just Maintenance and required repairs. My car would not shift, so I had choice but to bring it in, and no, the Transmission did not fall out, only a bad valve body.

Like my footnote states above, I am very satisfied with my Magnum, I just want it back.

I realize that parts get back ordered, I deal with that all the time. But this just seems excessive, no?

I realize it seems excessive, keep in mind how long some people are waiting to get their car. It's a good possibility that those cars are waiting on vendors to build stuff. Vendors also screw up a lot, if we catch it in time the parts don't make it to cars but they have to throw it all out and run a whole new batch.

Extremely popular vehicles have a heck of a time getting parts, try ordering something for a Crossfire.....holy crap. It takes 3 days to get a key.
