ordered a RT
Hello Magnum owners...
I ordered a Magnum RT on December 6, 2004. I had not ever seen one up close, or even knew what they were. I was sitting in a parking lot at Safeway and this car went by, I turned my head, took a double take, and thought..."Wow what was that?" I went to the internet to search for what it was and found it on the Dodge website. I went to the local Dodge dealer, and of course they had none. The one I saw was the only one here in Lassen County. A few days later, after surfing the internet and getting info on the car, I went to the dealer and ordered one sight unseen.
My problem now is, I ordered it in the color "Magnesium Pearl" that I saw in the Dodge brochre. Since then I have seen this color in at least seven different shades. Can anyone show me a picture of the true color of Magnesium Pearl?
You may think I am crazy ordering a $30,000 dollar car without ever seeing one up close. I am 72 years old, and have not liked any car made in the past 15 years. They are all "roller skates" with little engines that are conforming to the EPA. I come from the era of fast, big, gas guzzling cars. The RT Magnum is the first car that has taken me back to the days of my youth. I hope I am pleased with it when it arrives.
One more question. How long does it take to get a Magnum after it is ordered? The dealer says 8 to 10 weeks. Is this reasonable?

Well I just confirmation of a build date on my RT. I ordered mine on October 29. and according to the call I got from my salesman is that the build date for my car is Jan 19th, then I expect 2-4 weeks to take delivery. So for me it was a little over 12 weeks. But it seems that dealers on the coasts get their orders a little faster than we do in KS.

I emailed my photos of my Magnesium Pearl RT to Old Bob, if anyone else wants to see them, email me.

Magnesium pearl was my wifes first choice for color. It's a beautiful color and goes well on the Magnum. The dealer had a Magnesium RT but it didn't have the protection package, a must on the wife's list.
BTW, my 68 year old father-in-law is sporting around in a Cool Vanilla Magnum AWD.

Old Bob,
I only saw one Magnesium Magnum...and it was the one I bought. It's a beautiful color that's easy to keep clean. Only problem is that I still haven't figured out what color it's most like! Depending on the light and the angle it will look kind of greenish, or grayish or greenish/grayish. It's definitely not a definite color! Everyone who sees it, though tell me they love the color, and then ask "what color is it?"
You'll love the Mag once you get it. Live it...drive it...love it!
