Motor question?
Thanks for the replys i now have 335 miles im starting to get on it harder and harder each day .Tonite i reved it up a little a just wanted to see if it would lite them up seems to want to spin like crazy i let off after a little tire spin. Its seems like it will do a pretty long burnout if you stay into...With the traction control off i can chrip the tires without braking but it doesnt spin all that much i guess it will after exhaust and the air intake kit ,well hope it will anyway's....
With the traction control off, You can only chirp the tires?! The day after I got mine, mashed the pedal twice without braking. 1st time trac. control on, got a chirp, then this big hesitation, then took off!! 2nd time esp off, layed down 2 black lines about 20' long
Really ...Well i havent even floored it yet probably half pedal i took it up to 5500 with the auto stick but wasnt flooring it just reving it up to spin the motor up high...I should try just flooring it from a dead stop i havent so i cant say if it will or wont lay down some rubber...I know like i said when i braked it a little it was ready to smoke them up but i let off i guess im chciken
...I need my liscense for my work no job no car
So maybe thats why i didnt do it yet or just maybe im afarid it wont even lite them up i have heard all different things who says they can some say just a chirp .....But i can honeslty say i never floored the car yet probably only half thorrtle and this sucker moves ...Last nite on the highway i brought it up to 100 mph like it was nothing...but that was maybe 3500 rpm's so i must be a whimp with my car HUH? LOL.......

Now here is a thread that I like...
I noticed a question about geeting 130 out of the Magnum. What is up with that question? All of the Specifications that I have read on the Magnum indicate that it is Electrically Speed Controlled at 130 MPH, so why wouldn't it go 128 MPH? I have also read that the top speed capable for the Magnum is 140 MPH. That is a little hard to believe. Consider winding out 4th gear at about 113 MPH, the damn car almost broke the wheels loose grabbing 5th so hard, at 113 MPH!!!! Speedometer instantly went to 120 - 125 MPH, then I, ahh, um, the driver, let off the gas. My 'friend' told me this, of coarse...
As far as rubber on the ground. The car does what I want it to. I have the tire upgrade, so I have to assume that my tires are 'gripping' the road better than the stock tires. They grab when I want them to and they smoke when I want them to. It is only a matter of driving habits. However, I am assuming that the guys who can smoke' um without ESP off have lesser tires, or are on slick pavement.
I have found myself a nice quiet Manufacturing facility that has been abandoned for years. There, I am offered a nice open space of gray asphalt, free of Parking Space curbs and Parked Cars. Asphalt is rough though, the anti-slick type that provide good stopping traction in the rain and does not have a slurry coat on top that most parking lots get treated with. With ESP ON, I get a slight chirp, then launch. With ESP OFF, I get about a second worth of sqealling, then launch, not much rubber, but like I said, better tire stick to the ground more. However, with a slight touch of the brake pedal, I don't care if you put spiked, off road tires on this thing, it would smoke' um till the tires popped or I ran out of gas. Period. Didn't have the gut to put more than 30' or so of rubber down, I kept on seeing the dollar signs flying around through the smoke of the burning tires.
As far as those slick, slurry coated parking lots. Every RT owner needs to experience that. I was in an Shopping Center in South Orange County that has been treated with this slick top coat. I didn't even put my foot all the way down, but with ESP OFF and no brakes, I hit the gas to take off, but found myself not moving very much, (?) instead this RT was just lighting them up, and I don't think it would have stopped soon. I let my foot off the gas after I had laid down about 20' - 30' of my hard earned rubber, because, like I said, I wasn't expecting that at the moment, and the slick coat seemed way louder than the gravel topped roads, so I didn't want to attract any more attention that the Magnum already demands.
For the Breakin Proceedure, see Dodgemech's reply. He is right on. Did you buy a brand new 1967 car with old technology lubricants? No. Not today, maybe back then, but that's why they call them the 'good ol' days'. I never bought into the whole break-it-in-easy theory. It's brand new, so what if it does break, getting it to run like you want it to. That is why we have warranties, so be sure to bust it early, so you don't have to pay for the repairs. I don't know about "drive it like you stole it", but definately drive it like you are trying to push the pistons out the tailpipes. (Only because I think if I stole a car, I would crash it up a bit, thrash on it, have some **** kickin' fun before they send me off to jail...)
Ticking? What, is that the sound of the bugs hitting my car's hood at extremly high speeds? I have heard nothing from my car but a quiet purr from this finely tuned stock machine. Ha, Ha...

Hemi Mag,
If you feel hesitation in your car, address it immediately with your dealer. I had a bad Transmission Computer Module in mine that acted like a govenor. Wouldn't let the car go past a certain RPM, or past a certain speed. It felt like an electronic issue, but the dealer replaced the Valve Body instead. Same problem when they rushed it back to me before the Lemon Law time kicked in. I told the Service Technician that I thought it was an Electrical Problem, not mechanical, due to the way the computer readout would change back at start up. He called me back later that day and said that I was right. Replaced the part, but still acting like it has an electronic problem. Kind of hesitates the last 500 - 1000 RPM before shifting at Redline, instead of screaming full blast right to the Redline, like it should operate. So, long story short, too late, don't put up with electronic crap, as they only burden us with Computers, so we HAVE to return to the dealer for service. Only because the guy next door, who has more than 30 years experience in the Dealer repair business doesn't have a Dyno-Tune-O-Meter in his garage to do diagnostics on the newer cars. I would prefer to have my neighbor work on my car, so I can watch right next to him and see what he is doing, not have to wait behind this 'line' because of the Insurance Agent with the Sniper Rifle that will not let customers in. These cars don't NEED that much electronics, it is only a convenience for us with the extra 'Bells and Whistles' and a future cash flow for the Auto Makers. Don't put up with Electrical Crap!! Enough problems, and they will change their proceedure. I had a Durango with an Electrical Transmission problem, and didn't even know it until after I experienced my Magnum's Transmission problem. I just thought it was the SUV Transmission shifting tough. No, they should not shift like that, it is a new vehicle, the shifting in an automatic transmission should be almost seemless, with no thud into the next gear. Smooth....

My Hemi,
Wait for Spring! Don't screw your car up in the snow. You are smart, not crazy, to drive your truck in that salty crap and not your Magnum. I have less than 2,500 miles on my Magnum at 70 Days now...

I appreciate that...but I have located the cause of the hesitation, there is a loose
connection between the steering wheel and the driver's seat. :-)
I do agree....at the first sign of a problem, the car should be looked at. As complex
as these cars are, we can't afford to take any chances.
