Mine has the windshield popping too. I wonder what is causing it. Will the windshield just crack eventually?

 

Another owner (and I have forgotten which forum) found that the "popping" was actually the right side of the dash moving, not the windshield. I cannot verify this as my car does not do this.

 

Yeah, Dodgemech mentioned he was chasing a dash noise also...maybe that's the noise, but if it is- WOW- to think the dash can sound that bad? Sometimes it sounds like the whole windshield is going to explode! I'm putting off going in to the dealer until I get back from vacation.

Yes mine did it too, it seems to have set now and does it infrequently. Really loud too!

 

Yes, mine does it when it is cold, not every time though. I have 1200 miles. No sunroof.

 

Well the noise seems to be subsiding somehow...I can't predict it as much lately and when it does happen it seems to be less life-threatening. I've been listening to it from the perspective of possibly being the dash making the noise and it seems reasonable that it could be that. I'll wait and see if it works its way out for a while...

Meantime, every once in a while my left rear brake squeals like a shim is rubbing. Yesterday it sounded like a tired old Ford Fairmont driving down the street, so I pulled off the road into a new subdivision and listened more closely, stopped and looked over the brakes and felt for any loose parts or scratches. Nothing. Got back in, drove some more in the side streeets, put it in reverse and braked then something popped in the brake. Since then it hasn't made any noise.

Strange stuff. Funny thing is, even with these odd things happening I still start drooling whenever I'm getting close to driving her again! She's a kick in the pants.

 

11,500 on my 05 AWD RT No popping or squeeking anywhere. If it was, they would be giving me the first SRT8 that they got and giving me what I paid for my RT against it.

 

Yes, load pop from my windshield too.

 

I traced down that windshield pop. It is a right side wiper. Tape is down for a day and you will hear no pops. Body twists when you go over bumps etc., so porbably the spring holding down the wiper is too weak.

 

I heard it too in my R/T with no sunroof.
Windshield eh??? I figured something was flexing up there.
I live in Florida so it's not real cold but every morning when I turn out of my neighborhood...POP!!

Please post any solutions or dealership replys.
Mines due in for service in a couple of weeks, I'll definately mention it.
