Anyone out there bought the ECU Module that Jet just released? Costs about $320 and Jet's website says the Stage 2 module (for cars w/exhaust and intake mods) adds up to 25hp at the wheels. If you have it, I'd love to get your impressions.
Unless something has changed over the past 3 or 4 years at Jet, I'd wait until Superchips or Hypertech, or Diablo comes out with their products. I've never noticed any improvements when I installed a Jet Chip in a 99 Ford Ranger 4.0 and a 2002 Ford Expedition. Maybe they are better now, but I got taken in twice by their advertised claims, it won't happen again for me.
Jet Stage II on my 99 Dekota R/T got me about .3 tenths improvement on 1/4 mile time. Not worth the money spent!
It is a general rule of thumb that each 10 hp gain will result in a .1 sec increase in e.t in the 1/4 mile, (if you can hook up, and other variables) 3 tenths would be approximately 30 h.p. and would beat your previous run by at least 3 car lenghts at the top end of the 1/4 mile. That would bring the average mid to low 14 second R/T into the high 13 seconds area and that is very fast for a 4000 lb car. The chip can be had on a group buy in another forum for $250 or so, and I think it's money well spent for approximately 30 h.p. (Of course I am one of the guys that just spent $800 for a set of headers for my R/T so my values may be different) But as far as I am concerned Fast =[sm=happybounce.gif]
