Default AWD next to a RWD

I took this photo at the Barrett-Jackson of an AWD Magnum (left) next to a RWD Magnum to show the difference in stance. They were both SXT's. I was standing on a slope but you can still see the difference. I attached a couple of other interesting photos from the auction for your viewing pleasure.

That Viper powered Challenger is an incredible looking car.

Anyone else notice what looks like a Ford Mustang in the Mopar Bidders Bar?

Does anyone know the actual height difference between the awd and rwd? Looks like maybe 1.5 to 2 inches.

Exactly one inch. I measured at the engine block and wheel well with an AWD and RWD side by side with the same tire pressure. The product literature is in error when it states they are the same height.

Hi,

On the dodge.com website it shows the ground clearance to be 5.6 for the RWD and 6.6 for the AWD, which would acount for the additional height.

The 1" increase in height on the AWD makes sense to me, as that 1" will be needed in Icy / Snowy areas where Ice Build Up and Pot Holes are an issue and would warrant the use of an AWD. No severe weather here in Southern California, but despite popular belief, it does rain here. The AWD in Southern California would not be needed. RT RWD is all that is needed for me...

And you need a sunroof and I don't (gotta have a sun first). Maybe they could call it a Cloud Roof for the rest of us.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the extra 1" was to make room for the AWD parts.

Flat Eric,
Purposely didn't get the Sun / Moon / Cloud / Sky / Star / Day / Night Roof on Purpose. Didn't want to take the chance of a leak from the rain. []
