I'm with ya. While every now and again it does come in handy:

It just looks too freakin sweet shaved not to do it:

I'm gonna shave the door handles as well. Aint no such thing as being too shaven.

I understand every forum is relatively subject to what I call cheerleaders, bejabberers and just plain jerks, but it is still very nice on this forum to see exchanges of ideas and information. Although I would not blackout lights, I sure appreciate the beauty of what I see here and just gloss over the negativity.

As you say, the bulbs were cheap. A lot cheaper than redoing wiring I bet. In your earlier post you focused on the fuse itself and not the heat generated within the wiring due to the overwattage. Thats where the problem is, and furthermore it won't evidence itself until you check the ratings of *bundles* of wires rather than measuring a single wire. I looked around for those posts I mentioned but didn't have the time to track the suckers down (it was a thread about juicing up the fog lights with 9005's), and I don't think Navyvet posts here so he isn't looking at this thread. Specifically what I was looking for were the AWG standards on this.

I've done a lot of, ah... 'special' wiring and special lighting systems in cars. It was always coupled to new wires, relays, new fuses etc. To do it right you don't just toss in jacked-up bulbs; at least not without saying your prayers every night.

Doesn't mean my own hands aren't stained. I stuck in 9005's in the fogs. Took a calculated risk that the 19-watt increase won't cause me too much trouble.

Oh yeah,

Got to keep this thread on top! Too much BS to miss.

Grinner,
Photo Crop without the Rear Window Wiper does look sweet, but I have to agree with you, that I use it alot of the time, when weather requires.

Fourteen,
Bright lights aimed low are the most dangerous. Reflections from the Rain soaked road could cause a fatal glare... Not to demeanor the dangers of Smoking your taillights, but my opinion is that Bright Lights are MORE dangerous than Smoking your Tail Lights. I KNOW your opinion is different. That's what makes us, human!

*Footnote: Toxic Fumes are hazardous when inhaled. Do not smoke your Tail Lights! Nothing but a bad headache...

To all forum members…
I really am getting a kick, and a lot of good info, out of all the postings on this website. There is much info here, and a lot of comic relief. Like this one…Toxic Fumes are hazardous when inhaled. Do not smoke your Tail Lights!
I would like to hear more of your experiences on the road with the Magnum and how it is such an attraction, or distraction to other motorists on the road. I think this is the first time in a long while that a US car has made such an impact on the motoring public.

I am still awaiting my RT that I ordered back on Dec 6, ’04.

Well, I did add some black to the wheels (the inserts) and will be replacing them soon with black davincis.
My license plate has a black framed frame around it (smoked cover to come) and as for my head, I wear shades.

good call.

you focused on the fuse itself and not the heat generated within the wiring due to the overwattage.

Dodge protected this two lamp circuit with a 30A fuse. They would not design a circuit with wires that would burn at 15A and then 'protect' it with a 30A fuse!! What kind of engineering would that be??!!?? If the wires in that circuit couldn't handle 30A, they would have used a 20A or a 15A fuse, which would still have the capacity to supply and protect that OEM load of less than 10A!!

In your house 14 AWG wire is protected by a 15A circuit breaker. You don't protect a 14 AWG wire with a 30A circuit breaker, knowing that 20A may be enough cause trouble! I doubt that Dodge would overfuse their circuit either!! My Opti Blue lights only draw 15A, half the maximum load!!
