Isn't the Magnum built on a real frame? If so, it's only a little different than a truck when towing only 3800 lbs. People towed with fullsize V8 station wagons and sedans for decades but now it's a surprise?

Ford once rated the Crown Vic / Grand Marquis for like 5 or 6k lbs. They lowered it over the years to like 3k at the end, most likely to sell more trucks.

 

that magnum is RWD on a unibody. i wouldn't back it into the water like that. the battery is in the back along with a major fuse box.
