R/T Oil Change ????
The owners manual calls for 7qts. of 5w-20 with filter for the oil capacity, but evey oil change, the dip stick is always above the 'Full' mark a bit. I let the warm engine oil drain on a level surface for at least 10 minutes. Has anyone else experienced this?
Hmmm. I just changed the oil this morning. Ran the car for a mile or so to warm it up and parked it on ramps and let sit for about 15 minutes before draining the oil. I let it drain while I was removing the air intake silencer and changing the oil filter. Refilled with 7qts (adding some to the oil filter before installation) and after a test run the level is right at the full mark.
BTW, I highly recommend removing the air intake silencer. The Hemi sounds sweet on the go pedal!

My R/T is the same after an oil change, just over the full mark on the dipstick.
Was having my oil changed at a local shop, last time I was there the bill came to $49 for an oil change.............ridiculous! Maybe they were not allowing enough time for the old oil to drain out?
Will be changing my own oil now, or I should say, my older son will be doing the honors.
I plan to switch to Pennzoil 5W20 full synthetic oil and change it every 4 months, instead of the 3 months. The synthetic is a better oil and will last longer, so I save one oil change a year and the costs end up being almost even.

Sounds like the typical problem that it seems every car out there experiences anymore. The mfg sets capacity levels and the dipstick is marked as being 'Full' at that level. I'm always a fan of leaving the oil level mid-way through the cross hatched area (if it exists), or a little off of Full. It's always easier, and less messy, to add oil than to have to take some back out!
I'm also not entirely convinced on the benefits of sythetic oils in regards to price for performance. I'll stick with conventional oils and 5000 mile change intervals with decent filters (not Fram).

7 Quarts? Had the Dealer perform my first oil change, since he had the car at about 3,000 miles or so and the printout reads only 6 Quarts of Mopar Oil and an Oil Filter. Has anyone checked with the Dealer to see if there is a typo in the Owners Manual. Running too much oil is bad for the engine, right? 7 Quarts sounds like a lot of oil, heck 6 quarts is a lot of oil...
7 qts. and filter @ the dealer this morning. Top dead center of the dip stick.
