Default steering column noise

I have an 07 Magnum RT AWD. I bought it used with 12,000 miles. Recently I have started noticing a Rubbing noise in the steering column. It is woorse when it is colder out. I took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't find any thing wrong.Has any one else experienced this problem.

I have a 2007 Dodge Charger and the same thing is happening. The dealer could not find anything either. I am at a loss! It is very annoying.
The noise only occurs a slow speeds when you are making a right or left turn.
If you figure it out, let me know!

Is it a "chatter" during low speed turns? If so, there's a TSB on it for AWD's. If not, I'm not sure.

I noticed a "squeek" this winter when it got cold. The problem persisted and I took it in to the dealer. They diagnosed the problem as a bad spring. They ordered a new spring, it has arrived but I have not had it installed yet. Perhaps this may be the issue your are referring to. I'll try and get more information as to which spring it is and pass it along to you.

Hi,

I had the same noise in cold weather last winter...it came back this past winter so I took it in when it was squeaking. I finally got it fixed today also if anyone has problems with their wheels flaking off take it in I am going to get a brand new set of wheels out of it.

The replacement of the spring did the trick. There is no more squeeking in the steering column when I turn the wheel. Have your service center check the springs within the steering wheel and column and they should be able to locate the problem.
