Default Magnum in the Shop, guess what my Dealer did.

Wife took the RT in to the dealer this morning. Seems she got a check engine light a couple of days ago and none of the controls on the steering wheel worked. The next day she started the car and everything had cleared itself. The next day, ck eng back on, and nothing worked and the blinkers didn't work either. The dealer had to order a module that won't be in until Monday. So, they put her in a Magnum until our Magnum is fixed. It is a Loaner. That's my Dodge dealer's policy and I like it.

ps... she asked for a Crossfire, but they smiled and put her in a Magnum. Guess you can't have everything.

We ended up with a midnight blue SXT loaner with 2400 miles on it. Not a bad car and pretty well optioned. The one thing I can say after driving it is that I really don't believe I would have bought a Magnum if I couldn't have gotten the RT. Though the SXT has leather and a nice interior, the noise of the engine and the overall road feel wouldn't be a fit for me. I'll be glad to get the Hemi back. I'm also glad that my dealer is more accomodating than some. I know it's a dealer-by-dealer thing as far as loaners, and I consider myself lucky to have a dealer willing to go that extra step. Now.... if I can get my car back without those knuckleheads 'back in the shop' from doing any further damage, I'll consider myself lucky. Last time they left a piece of material with metal prongs that they had removed to do some other work laying on my engine cover. I drove the car until I washed it the next day and discovered that the piece had gouged chunks out of the engine cover, thus ruining it. I pulled the engine cover off and went back to the dealership. The dealership took a new engine cover off of an RT in the lot and gave it to me. Anyone can make a mistake. How the dealer deals with it makes or breaks that dealership in my book. So far, I'm happy with the way they handle things.
