Default Unused wire question

All,

I was doing the auto headlight switch install on my Magnum R/T today and was noticing that next to the parking break was a purplish blue gray (I am color blind so I cant be sure) wire that was wound up and unnattached at one end. It looked to have several feet wound up.

The only mod I had done at the dealer was the trailer hitch and wiring. Is wire this part of that install? What is it for?

There was a unused wire and connector dangling next to the headlight module on mine. I believe it's for the remote trunk lid opener on the 300. The Magnum and the 300 share the same wiring harnesses.

The wire wrapped near your brake is part of the trailer wire harness. It would be used only if you added a secondary brake system (electric brakes). I left mine in a spot in the spare tire area.
