I've never really looked into modifying my '06. What would be the benefit to adding a CAI? Mine is a 5.7 AWD.

I don't calculate mpg's on cars. It should improve as long as you keep your foot light. I think they go into 4 banger mode between 55-65 mph. I own 4 cars with V8's never bothered with calculating the mpg's. I think I am getting around mid twenties on the highway. I can make the car sip gas if I want...all in the foot. I just hated starving the engine of air...if you look at the oem air intake... small diameter hole for the air to come in to the intake. The cai opens up the air flow.

Good info, thanks. I'll definitely look into it. I'm not a big MPG guy myself, but this is the car my wife drives daily so I like to try to keep it as economical as possible. As long as it doesn't drastically decrease, it sounds pretty good. Do you have a recommended brand?

I got mine off of a EBAY seller, Chrome Intakes. U can buy either a CAI with a generic filter or op for the K&N. I bought the set up with the K&N filter and spent a totoal of 123 beans. Install was simple even if ur not a wrench. The CAI goes through the air intake so it draws the cold air from behind the front bumper more of less. Airraid makes one a usually sells for about 180. K&N makes one as well but they are $$$ cha-ching.

I found a new K&N CAI on Ebay for about $180. Being that I have a K&N drop in filter in my truck, I kept brand loyalty. The others look cheap. Make sure you have a cap on the end of your filter. I have seen ones selling for less that don't have it, I'd think that would pull dirt into your intake.
