My 2.7 Chargers call for 5w-20 and on their first oil change, I switched over to Mobil 1.

how many quarts do you use on the 2.7 engine

 

It's been a few weeks, but I think it was 6.

The chrysler engines are picky when it comes to oil. when I bought my 05 Magnum with a 2.7 in it when I drove more than 10-15 miles and put it in park the oil pressure light would flicker. The 2.7 has double over head cams so it won't hold much pressure at idle anyway. It had 80k miles so I put a mopar filter on it and 5w30 valvoline semi synthetic high mileage in it and have had no issues since. Everyone says to use exactly the weight called for and only a genuine filter. Don't but that aftermarket fram crap.

 

The 2.7 holds 6 quarts.
