Default Motor oil

Since I've gotten some great advice from this board already, I thought throw this out there. What type of oil are most of you running? I've just been using the standard Mopar 5w20 and changing every 3000 miles but have been considering changing to a full synthetic. Any opinions?

I use full synthetic in my Magnum RT and 98 Dodge Ram. Mobile 1 when I can get it on sale but use Penzoil full synthetic too. I still change the oil in the RT every 3k and the Ram every 6 mos since it's my weekend ride. Maybe 4k on the RT if I am feeling bold. To me, oil is the life of the engine.. still have my 73 Charger running on its original engine by changing the oil frequently. (do the same w/a 70's lincoln..but not good to talk about a Ford product here..might get in trouble).

I prefer Royal Purple, but you usually have to get it at a $peed shop (for the 5W20). I pay about $75 for a case (12).

Which engine do you have?

If it's the 3.5L., you must use 10W-30.

A Chrysler shop used 5W-20 by mistake, and my engine was blowing blue smoke.

After they did another (free) oil change using 10W-30, there was no more blue smoke.

I have the 5.7. You have to use 5W20 for the cylinder shutdown feature. Royal Purple in other viscosities is more available at the chain stores.
