SXT vs RT?
I went through the R/T - SXT comparisons before I plunked down the $$$$$.
I'm glad I got the Hemi.
I got the base R/T so there wasn't a big price differance.
The stock sound system kicks total a** (due to family issues I do all my serious listening during my daily commute)
Not nuts about the milage (15.9 aver around town, 21.4 on my one trip to Key West) but it's bearable.
Draws a nice crowd at the shows I attend with my car club "Cruisers of S. Florida".
Stomping the gas of course brings a smile to my face and I'm so over front wheel drive cars.
A chopped "Nomad" style wagon, European drivetrain & American Muscle.
What a combo

Last week I drove the SXT and even though the engine was not broken in yet it had gobs of power, much more than my Grand Prix's 3.8L.
Tonight I drove the RT and once again it was not broken in yet so I didn't want to push it too hard. There is a $11,000 (CDN) difference between the 2 cars but if you take away all the bells and whistles of the loaded RT, the SXT is the perfect Magnum for me and my family.
I envy the members here that can afford the RT but I'm going with the SXT.

You won't be dissapointed!! My Magnum has just over 1100 Km's on it now. It'll soon be ready for its first oil change. So she's getting worked in REAL nice. This thing really moves!!! I can't comment from the angle of an RT owner, but going from a 4 banger in my previous Mazda Protege 5 to this 6 in the SXT.........simply awesome!!!
I still haven't really let loose with it yet, but on a few occations I've hammered on it a bit. I'm quite impressed with this car. The biggest thing I've noticed so far is the crap we carry around IN our car. In the Mazda we always has pens, glasses, note books, or other small items floating around. We've learnt that you can't do that in this car. When you get up and go, things start flying around inside. This fella has loads of pull!! I can't wait for my first oil change and really give it a good run.
The RT guys do have the cube's, and the power to back it up.......but the SXT is a damn good runner-up!!
Cheers,
Tilt
yes, i was thinking about blower, but the cost of a mod is quite prohibiting. unless there is some cheap way to boost intake pressure i don't think i'll do it (plus, U have to reprogram fuel pump).
for daily commuting, it has more bang than needed. its just in the occasional "showdown" with japs or mustangs, that i wish i could REALLY smoke 'em!
couple of a days ago i've seen two mustangs racing each other lights-to-lights. boy, were they surprised when i joined the fun!
i know its childish, but i live for moments like that.

I have been thinking about trading my SXT in for the Hemi...but have no good reason too really. The power I have now is very impressive and so is the gas mileage 34 average per canadian gallon on this last tank...mostly highway miles. I don't plan on racing the vehicle so I'll be happy with the 250 horses. For those that do race the hemi hard and frequently...I don't think the drive train will stand up to all that power, especially the new SR8, 425 horses i a all wheel drive...oouch...that will be hard on a system sharing all those horses would't u say, better to have rear wheel drive only. As for repairs afterwards...lookout. In conclusion they are bringing back all the horse power but not the 8 3/4 posi rear ends and borg & warner super T-10's tranny's.
