Aftermarket headunit pics?
I have a stereo system in my present car and I will be putting it into my Magnum SXT.........I hope.
Does anyone have the speaker sizes for the stock radio system?
Any pics of an aftermarket headunit and or pics sub locations?
TIA

I have totally redone the sound system in mine. Pics are on the link in my signature. Click on the Alpine button. The stock speakers in mine are 3.5" Dash, 6.5" Door and 6X9" rear. If you have the 6-speaker system the doors are 6X9". To remove the door panel is a lil tricky. Use your key to push in the center, then gently pull up on the panel to have it pop out. If you use a phillps screwdriver to push in the center, it will fall into the door and then you have to take the moisture barrier off to get to them. I used an '04 Durango radio mount and wiring harness. The only pain is that there is no switched power at the harness of the car. I tapped off the cigarette lighter for the switched power lead. There will be a small 3-wire plug left over. It is from the cars computer buss. DO NOT USE this for anything. You will run a good chance of sending the computer some bad info.
What I did for the subs is cut the fiberglass under the foldaway panel to fit the box. Then I cut a top panel to fit from the back of the seat to the edge of the box, that replaces the fold-away panel. When I lay the rug to cover the amps, it fits flush with the top of the speaker box. I did the whole box and panel for about $80 including $30 for the lexan show panel. The place where I got all the equipment from said they would have charged $500 for the stuff in the back. I figure that I have saved $750 for the install.
The box was simple to build. I got 5 planks of 3/4"X4'. This way all I had to do was to them to the 39" width of the hole. The end result was a box 12"wideX13.5"deepX39"wide. Which left an interior space of 1.5 cubic feet. The speakers are wired in 2ohm mono, so the brace that seperated the subs, I drilled some 2" holes to make it look like swiss cheese.
If you have any questions, I be more than happy to help out.
