Zaino makes the best products that i have ever used, IMHO. I've never used the clay bar. My paint has never been in any condition that requires it. I stick with the ZFX, Z-2, Z-5, Z-6, Z-7,
Z-10, Z-12, and Z-16. Any combo of those leaves my finishes looking like pools of water and my cars looking show-ready.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with "My paint has never been in any condition that requires it."

Here's a tip:
Take a baggie, like a sandwich bag, put your fingers inside the bag and gently glide the bag over a fender. I'd be willing to bet that your fingers will feel more of a sandpaper finish than a glass finish. The claybar will remove the grit. Even brand new cars from the factory have tons of impurities in the paint finish.

I'll have to try it. I usually use my eyes (which I'm sure are fallable) or run my knuckle over the paint to look / feel for imperfections. I was always under the impression that a clay bar is needed when your paint is in dire need of help. I'll get one and check it out.

Honestly, you won't be sorry you did. Clay bars are amazing! I didn't know smooth and clean till I started using a clay bar. The problem is it can take a LONG time to clay bar an entire car, so I usually take one troubled area at a time.

What kind did you go with? I have used Zaino and have been pleased with it.

I ordered the Zaino kit with all the stuff you need, because everyone here was touting how good it looks. And there were some pics posted a while back that had reflections of trees on the car that looked like the picture of the trees was painted on the car. That sold me, but it has been too cold here to do it, so just now getting around to ordering.

I don't like the fact that Zaino won't go the extra mile and take the package to the post office and mail to the guys serving overseas (APO address), I think that is really weak and normally I don't buy from those that don't support our guys, where ever they are.

But I could not find anything better and nowhere else to buy it. Thanks to folks like shipitapo.com who take our packages from UPS or whatever and take them to the post office for a nominal fee, $6.95, I ordered it anyway, but I don't have to like it.

Ok, enough complaining.

Eric,
Zaino is a very good product and I used to use it, but don't be fooled by photos. I have seen auto finishes with no wax or treatment on them reflect like a mirror. Here's a picture of a fender of a Black GTO I detailed. (Notice the reflection of my Magnum on the fender.
