DC needs a high MPG, potentially high volume engine like this turbo diesel just to continue selling its current V8 products.
Corporate CAFE standards forced DC to start selling model year 2006 Hemi Magnums in April 2005. It seems likely that the 2006 Hemi CAFE quota could sell out in January 2006.
If Toyota can sell 550K Camrys per year, DC should be able to sell 200K 300's and Magnums with this turbo diesel..AND DEMONSTRATED IMPROVEMENTS IN QUALITY.
I think DC is making a very big mistake dropping the 7/70,000 warranty in 2006 models. It would be better if DC drove its quality program to where it cost DC very little in service to give 7/70.

Hopefully next year we will start seeing more diesels in vehicles because of the switch to ultra low sulphur diesel. Over in Europe there are some really nice diesel engines that can be easily imported because of the ULSD. A Magnum would be great with a 4 + liter V8 twin turbo common rail diesel with about 300hp and 400 lb ft of torque and still get 30+mpg.
