If you remove the bezel around the radio and heater controls you will be able to remove the screws holding the heater controls in. After removing the plastic controls pop open the controll box and remove the circuit board. you will find three or four bulbs (I can't remember) with the leads formed around a square plastic holder that is soldered to the board. wick off the bulb and plastic piece and replace with part # 272-1154 from your local Radio Shack store.

Still have no dash panel illumination, but does anyone else notice a whining noise coming from their light switch? If I turn the wheel up to increase the illumination (everything except my instrument panel still works), the sound goes up in pitch.

I replaced the headlamp switch to no avail. Still have the whining noise.

The lights behind my heater controls burned out, so I did some searching here on the issue.

I took the advice above, and it worked. It took 3 bulbs. The ones I got from Radio Shack look different than the originals, but so far seem to work fine. I had to carefully solder them onto the circuit board- the old ones just popped right off.
