Default Timing belt or chain

Hey I have a 2007 magnum SRT8 and I was wondering if my car has a timing belt or chain. And how bad it is to change it out. does anybody know where I can get a new one at for a pretty good price. Thanks for your help.

2.7L Chain
3.5L Belt
5.7 or 6.1L Chain
If you have never done any of these chains or belt. I would leave it up to the pro's.

Chain. Pretty typical removal/installation if you have done it before. If not, get a manual (like a Chiltons) if they have them. haven't checked myself. In simple terms it involves draining the cooling system and removing everything on the front of the engine. I believe all your belt driven equipment has to be removed/put out of the way. The timing chain cover and the oil pump (I think) have to be removed to get the chain off. Usually you will want to replace the sprockets with the chain. Not impossible to do if you are handy with tools but can be challenging if not.
Also wondering why you think the timing chain needs to be replaced. What kind of mileage is on the car and what are the symptoms that make you think this is what the problem is? The more mechanically astute than myself folks will want to know in order to help you out with good advice.

I was wondering the same thing. What makes you think you need to replace yours? Chains are generally very reliable and are not usually in need of replacement until very high mileage is reached.
