Default Magnun causes accident!

This morning on my way to work, I was driving on a 2 lane road in the left lane. I notice that a guy in nice older Mustang GT with a set of custom wheels was seriously checking out my Magnum as we drove side by side.

The next thing I know, a guy in new Camry up ahead in the right lane, puts on his right turn signal and slows down to enter a driveway on the right.

"SCREEEEEECH!!!!!.........BANG!!!!!!!!" The guy in the Mustang rearends the guy in the Camry. I turned around to check and nobody seemed hurt and both drivers were already on their cel phones calling for help.

I DO feel a little guilty and I'm glad that nobody got hurt. The guy who I was driving to work with me in my car says " You know that that guy was too busy looking at your car, that's why he crashed?"

I said "Yeah, I know"..........Now we know how good lookin' women feel when they walk down a busy street. I love this car!

I have had my RT for almost a year now and I still continue to get compliments and a lot of gawkers.

Hate to see anyone crash their car, even if it is a FORD..................LOL

I went to get some propane this morning and one of the dudes at the gas station wanted the full tour of my ride. After 10 minutes or so, his boss expressed disatisfaction but he wanted to then chack out the sound system (he had been gawking over the engine all that time. Maybe 5 more minutes went by when the bossman started really yelling at him. I felt like I was getting him in trouble and really started trying to wrap it up. He then saw the painted calipers and that started a whole new conversation. Another five minutes went by and his boss came storming out telling him to get back to work or he was gone.
I guess the dude wanted to leave early on mamma's day cuz he then wanted to sit in it and crank it up.
lol
man, I love this freakin car. Causes wrecks, ends jobs but somehow... it's addicting.
I guess that's the case with most drugs, huh?

I usually get the same response from Mag, but today I went to my folks house to see my mom and I got an indifferent reponse. My dad was out taking a break from mowing the lawn. I pulled up and parked. The first word out of his mouth was that I'd ruined my car. He did not dig the 20" black Axis Ordems I put on. Maybe its an older thing. He like the chrome or aluminum look much better. I tried to tell him that black on black was the new thing. Not the reponse I was looking for from my pop.

Dads are hard on rides. I remember my first show car that evolved from my first truck when I was 16. Dad always told me how I had totalled a perfectly good truck.

It was black when I got it. Then I sprayed it with blue pearl. Then I painted it purple. Then pink and terquois (no pics of that one, unfortunatly) then candy blue with tapered stripes.
I had molded-in ground effects, a convertible top, a 142db sound system, ect. He hated it. I remeber him plum smacking me when I cut out the firewall to let the four 12" subs fire through to the cab.
Now he loves the inside of our magnums (especially the nav) but doesn't dig the outside.
I now don't try to please pops with my mods. Call me selfish but now if I think it's cool... well, it's freakin cool.

Yeah, I've been there before. My first show vehicle was a 2001 Chevy S-10 Xtreme (yeah I'm a young guy, 25). I never really entered into any shows because I never really finished the truck. I no pictures, which I regret like hell. I had dumped a good 6-8K into her. She had aftermarket wheels, upgraded tires, it was already lowered from factory, but I took her down another 2 in the front and 3 in the back. I had a killer $3k stereo and alarm. She was black, all lenses in the front clear, stock tail lights b/c I hate Euro's, I had a street scene grill, fiberglass toneau, and the engine was anything but stock. I could run with Mustang GTs no problem and v8 trucks were nothing (except for the Lighting, the srt was not out yet). As you can tell I loved my truck. I traded it in on a 2003 Ram Hemi, and missed my S10 everyday! I can finally say that the Mag has almost completely taken my mind off the S10. I love getting those stares again. Just yesterday I was at a light and there was a group of kids staring and pointing in awe. 3 miles up the road two guys in a Ranger that was fixed up almost broke their necks turning around to check out my ride. This feeling is irreplaceable. My wife and parents don't understand why I put so much time and money into something like a car. You have to have the sickness to really understand.

I stopped by the paint-n-body shop just down the road the other day to check on my grill halves paint progress (minor snag, not ready yet) when a guy walks by and hollers "If you don't stop bringing that thing in here, I'm gonna have to ask for a ride!" I happened to have been chatting with the 'Big Boss' who smiled real big and said - "if you ain't back in an hour, we'll send a search party".

I looked at the guys uniform shirt, and darned if his name didn't say 'Cooter'

We did about a 12 mile loop, and one right nice 15-20 second burnout in the back parking lot (smoked out the smokers) when we got back - Cooter is gonna try and sell his pickup now :-)
