Possible new wheels...

hey, i like the five spokes also, got a set of six on my ride, i know you said you dont want to go with bigger rims because of the tire cost. But have you checked ebay, i picked up a wide set of 19" michalin primacys for $200.00. got the wheels there as well, took some time to find the right size but was well worth it. Got the whole package (wheels, tires, lug nuts, mount and balance) for under 1300.00 not bad, not bad at all

Matt,
It all comes down to the mighty dollar!!
I'm really pushing my luck with the rims. Being self-employed, young(ish), wife and two kids, and many other items on the priority list.....I'm dancing a fine line with the mrs.
I'm just happy she's on board with the rims, let alone having to purchase new rubber.
Someday maybe I'll trick it out more....but I have to take that slowly. At this point....I just gotta lose those factory alloys. Thanks for the look.
Cheers,
Tilt

Hey Lyle, how about the 18" RT wheels. I see those going for about $650 US wheels and tires. I know the shipping would cost you a pretty penny, but for around a grand, you would be sitting mighty sharp. The stock wheels I had were very similar to yours, but they had a polished look, instead of the dull alloy. Maybe it's the picture, maybe its because I bought the special edition or whatever.
Well.....there goes that idea!!
The local shop here will not be able to help me. Not that they didn't give it there 'all'!! The dude had a hell of a time trying to find 17" rims that will fit my car. Most of the 17's out there don't have the offset clearance. We even stuck the car on the hoist and tried a few just for giggles. After searching for an hour or so, we came up with three choices. 2 of them were silver painted rims (NOT), and the third was a Cragar Style 5 spoke (pretty much designed for a Mustang). They even had cobras on the centers.
So I'm back to square one. Cheapest it would be for a new set of rims (19's or 20's), plus rubber, would be in the $2500 to $3500 range (Canadian). WAY over the budget.
I'll maybe keep an eye on some RT rims on eBay, but I just don't know how I'd get them across the border without paying a fortune!!
So looks like I'm stuck with my factory 17's for now. Oh well, it was fun to dream.
Cheers,
Lyle

hey man what ever happened to NAFTA, i lost a lot of money recently because customs wanted me to be some ridiculous fees for some stuff i sold on ebay, the fees were actually more, a lot more, than the selling price. So i was forced to abandon the item and refund my buyer. But somehow i was able to ship to the ukraine duty free, strange aaaaa

Dude....I hear ya!! Getting stuff across the border is getting harder and harder every day!! Free trade my a$$!!!
I just can't figure out why there's no Canadians selling their RT schwag on eBay. That would make my life easier. There certainly arn't as many RT owners around these parts. I know of a couple. And the dealerships all have the same '05 RT's that they've had for months now. Strange!!
Cheers,
Lyle
