Rough running when cool :(
I've looked through 8 pages of posts looking to see if anyone has had this problem, but so far nothing, so here goes.....
The last couple months here in Michigan, the weather has been unseasonably cool in the mornings... typically in the 30 & 40's, its when I get in my SXT, start it up and just go, that in the first few miles of running, I'll be traveling between 45 & 55, just cruising and I start to feel a vibration, almost like I was hitting subtle bumps in the road, but if I let off the gas, it goes away. I've noticed that this is happening when the trans is in 4th gear and the RPM is around 1700. Another way to describe this would be to compare it to a manual transmission in 4th gear trying to take off from a start, only not as severe or like an out of balance drive shaft. I have roughly 12,000 miles on the car and just this past friday the CEL came on and is staying on. I want to try a couple more tests to help describe this problem to my dealership before taking it in, such as letting the car warm up before driving it to see if this stops the problem. I've also noticed that even after the car is warmed up, when cruising about 70 to 75 mph, going up slight grades that I'll feel this resonance as well.
I'd like some input before taking it to the dealer who won't notice these problems when the engine is warm...
Thanks in advance....

i had similar problems on two different cars. both with serious milage. once it was distributor and misfiring(non-firing) sparkplug, the other time head gasket. i hope you have just an ignition problem..

My RT does this, and others have confirmed the same behavior. The solution is to warm the engine up, which is best practice anyway.

Thus, I'd say that there's something amiss in your engine, the calibration of your computer, or one of the sensors is bad.
