On the grills that cover the intake slots, I'd put a set of menacing looking eyes.

I have done it flat black for now. The scoop will stay flat black - but the trim ring will become body color. I dont have updated pics yet but I put my "HEMI" badges on either side of the scoop. I have also managed to rasie the scoop a bit more (about an inch) and it now shakes!!!

Here are some older pictures.

I will try to get some new ones up. This has been the most rewarding mod sofar cause I have done it all myself!

Did you ever figure out a way to seal the gap between the hood layers? I'm interested now that my RK Sport hood didn't work out. I may go with this same hood...but would like to hear how you sealed that pesky gap.

I adjusted things so that there was a narrow gap between the bottom of the trim ring and top of the scoop. Then I went to Pep Boys and got weather stripping (like what came with the kit only thicker) that attaches to the trim ring ( it is a U channel that goes on the trim ring and a round moulding to seal).

This had everything sealed nice and clean - but did not allow the shaker to shake. I have removed it and now I have a small 1/4" gap between bottom of trim and top of scoop. I have been in rain several times since and everything has been dry underneith.

Cheers

Thanks! I have been lazy lately (cheap to) and have not done any additional painting. I did the hole chop and install while I was recovering from some surgery (they said no heavy lifting - nothing about power tools). Now I am back at work and making up for lost time so no more mod time.

Cheers

John
