Smoke is usually oil related. I am curious. Your 2nd R/T in six months? Do you HAVE 2 Magnums or was your first one a lemon?

My Magnum has never smoked. Well, tires maybe, but not the engine. [8D]
If it's fuel-related, that means it's pig rich on startup, which shouldn't be happening. Fuel smoke is usually dark grey.
If it's oil-related, that sounds like a problem with one or more rings not seating properly. Oil smoke is a white/light grey color. Virtually every modern engine's rings have pretty much seated by the time they're driven off the lot, so that shouldn't be happening either.
Whatever the cause, NO new car should smoke at all at startup. Take it back to the dealer and at least make darn sure it's documented that you brought the car in for smoking. That will protect you in the future if something nasty happens like spontaneous complete disassembly of the engine.

If its gas, the smoke will be black...hold you hand under the exhaust for a second...then smell it, you can smell the unburnt fuel.

Oil will be light grey, like cigarette smoke.
If this thing is burning oil, you in deep stuff...sounds like a ring isnt seated or might even be broken.
Go camp out at the dealer till they fix it.
If the ring isnt seated correctly or is broken, you are scoring the crap out of the cylinder every time you drive it.
About the only other way to get excess oil in the combustion chamber is a blown head gasket, which shouldnt happen on a car this new.

No matter what the problem, something is wrong, a 2005 RT should not smoke, period.
(if it was a 71 Dart, maybe)
Do not let the dealer brush it off!

Are you checking your oil level on a regular basis?

Keep complaining to your local dealer, if that does not work, go over their head - contact Dodge or zone office. Look in your owners manual for information on who to contact.

Have the dealer do a cylender leak down test, that will show you the condition of the cylinder. Check the spark plugs to see what cylinder is the bad one.

If the smoke is only at start up time, that would indicate leaky valve seals. Did you over rev the engine at any time?

COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN.............the squeaky hinge gets the oil.

Good luck,

Bob

Actually, the sign of a blown head gasket is antifreeze in the oil, which ends up producing white smoke (from antifreeze burning in the combustion chamber) out of the tailpipes.

Well,
There are oil galleries there also...and he could have a bad valve stem seal....
But yes, heavy white smoke is the sign of a water leak into the combustion chamber...

I've tried my best to over rev mine and I sure can't figure out a way to do it...
