oil perssure light
I know this topic has been covered about a thousand times but...I have a 05 magnum with 90000 miles, 2.7l engine. I have had it for a year and the motor sounds smooth and quiet, no rattles no oil usage and as much power and you can expect from a 2.7. At hot idle, oil pressure light flickers. changed the sending unit ( or descending whatever ) and still the same. The dealer says Chrysler says engine is safe down to 5psi at hot idle, light kicks at about 8 or 9 psi. They also say not to worry about it. This is coming from the dealer and I also have a friend that works for them that says the same. What do you guys think? sorry for the repost I am sure but.....
Not sure why anybody would buy a big car with the smallest engine avalable?

I know the Chrysler sebring has this problem as well. I dont remember what the part is called but theres an after market thing that vents or something like that its something about the oil passages. Sorry if i think of the name of the part ill let you know.
light comes on due to low oil pressure. the 2.7 is JUNK!!! this is the worst mistake since the release of the 604 trans. 5psi is ridiculously low. that's an indication of oil pump problems, excessive bearing clearance, restriction of the oil pickup screen. "they" say 5 is ok because they don't want to stand behind poor engineering.
