Default Dealer Markup & Drain Plug

Stopped by my friendly(?) Dodge dealer today to pick up a new oil pan drain plug and maybe see the new Chargers.

DodgeMech recommends putting in a new drain plug every time you change your oil, he said they are only about $2 or $3 each. Surprise, my dealer charged me $6.14 each, I bought 2. I don't think it is necessary to change the drain plug at EVERY drain, but I will do it about every 3rd oil change.

Dealer had a new Charger on the lot, Bright Silver in color and it had the Hemi engine (R/T).

Factory sticker was about $33,000 (well loaded) and of course dealer marked it up to $35,000................nice going.

OUCH!

Happy with my Magnum RT

Magnum RT,
I know it sucks, but think about it... Without crappy Dealers, we wouldn't have good Dealers out there... They would all be ripping us off...

What about getting the Fumso valve for the oil pan?? Then it would be a 1 time purchase and never need to replace again?

Sorry, I am from the old school, I just don't trust those fancy drains for the oil pan.
